Gran fiesta en la Isla Taboga espera a los viajeros en enero

La segunda versión de un nuevo tipo de fiesta en la Isla de Taboga, Bahía de Panamá, tendrá lugar del 26 al 27 de enero del próximo año. Cynthia Mulder del Cerrito Tropical Inn ubicado en la isla, es la fuerza detrás de lo que prometen ser dos días de diversión bajo el sol durante la “Fiesta del Mar.”

Starlit beach dancing, calypso music and cerviche combine for Taboga Sea Festival

If campfires and dancing on the beach under the stars, fortified with a prize winning ceviche is what turns you on, then it’s time to make a note in your diary to head for Taboga early next year.

The island's second Fiesta del Mar (Festival of the Sea) is scheduled for January 26 and 27 2013, to highlight the benefits and attractions of the "Island of Flowers”.
The organizers promise two days of fun, sun, beach, adventure, history and more and this year will offer to take day trippers from hotels in the city to the departure point on Amador Pier,, and from there it’s just a half an hour cruise to the festivities. Tucked in between sports and beachside events there will be a "Food Festival" which will include a ceviche contest.
There will be fun activities for the family : contests, tours, treasure hunts and folkloric presentations. And on Saturday evening some serious partying for those hardy spirits who eill get a kick out of dancing on the beach to the music of celebrates Panamanian Calypso musician Samuel Archer and the Caribbean Sweet Band.
During the two day festival there will be music by other national artists, and a DJ at the Beach. All activities will be centered on the Pier park area and Playa Honda. About 6000 people and foreign visitors are expected to visit the festival whose aim is to promote sustainable tourism on IslaTaboga and increase visitor traffic.
The island also plans to play its role in marking the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the South Sea. So out with your pen and write “Taboga” in large letters on your places to go list.

Promover el turismo en la isla, con esta finalidad nace ‘La fiesta del Mar’ a celebrase en su segunda edición en Taboga el 26 y 27 de enero de 2013.Una de sus principales creadoras, Cynthia Mulder, aseguró que el año pasado se hizo, pero en un mal mes (marzo), razón por la cual la del próximo año la harán en enero, al inicio del verano.‘Queremos dar a conocer la isla y beneficiar a los pobladores, queremos que vuelva a convertirse en la Isla de las Flores’, comentó Mulder, quien tiene siete años de vivir en Taboga y es propietaria del Hotel Cerrito Tropical, lugar donde se realizó la conferencia de prensa. EL FESTEJOLa Fiesta del Mar tendrá un preámbulo el 20 de enero, cuando se realice la carrea de sol y agua organizada por Panama Runners Club.‘También queremos promover las artes culinarias en el Food Festival que será organizado por el chef Dutari, en el cual las personas podrán participar en el concurso de ceviche’, comentó Mulder.Durante el Food Festival se darán clases a los moradores para que puedan brindar una mejor atención a los turistas y visitantes. Como el tema principal es el ceviche se tocarán temas como: la preparación, el fileteado, manipulación y nutrición.Uno que estuvo presente en la conferencia de prensa fue el alcalde del lugar José Chirú, quien aseguró que era la primera vez que en Taboga se hacía una convocatoria a los medios y habló sobre las expectativas de la fiesta.‘Cada fin de semana visitan la isla alrededor de mil 800 a 2 mil personas, por lo que se espera que durante la fiesta recibamos alrededor de 5 mil personas’.El alcalde, consciente de la falta de hospedaje para los visitantes, contó que están buscando alternativas para ofrecer un servicio más cómodo.‘Sabemos que no hay suficientes hoteles, sólo tenemos en toda la isla 50 habitaciones formales. Existen otras alternativas que son cuartos de alquiler en algunas viviendas, pero eso ya es a criterio del turista’, explicó.También añadió que ‘en estos momentos, el único proyecto que tenemos es construir duchas y baños cerca de la playa para que los visitantes estén más cómodos’.Todos los organizadores del evento, que en su mayoría son franceses, buscan con la Fiesta del Mar volver a realzar las bellezas de Taboga y que se convierta en un punto turístico estratégico de Panamá como lo fue otrora.

Por segundo año consecutivo se llevará a cabo la Fiesta del Mar, evento que busca resaltar las bondades y atractivos turísticos de la denominada “Isla de las Flores”, Taboga.

La Fiesta del Mar será los días 26 y 27 de enero de 2013, y los organizadores del evento adelantaron algunos de los atractivos que tendrán para los visitantes que deseen pasar dos días de diversión, sol, playa, aventuras, historia y mucho más.

Durante el día habrá desde actividades deportivas y de playa incluyendo un “Food Festival” que incluirá un delicioso concurso de Ceviche, también habrá actividades recreativas para la familia como: concursos, paseos, Búsqueda del Tesoro y presentaciones culturales. En la noche del sábado 26 de enero, los visitantes podrán disfrutar de una Fogata bajo las estrellas y Bailar en la Playa con el afamado artista nacional con Samuel Archer y su Caribbean Sweet Band, al igual que otros artistas nacionales, música Disco, variada y DJ en la Playa.

Todas las actividades se llevarán a cabo en el área del Parque del Muelle y en la Playa Honda. Además habrá espacios para pequeños negocios – se espera contar con la participación de alrededor de 6 mil personas nacionales y extranjeros en la Isla que buscan disfrutar de la temporada de Verano

Conferencia – Fiesta del Mar Taboga

Por segundo año consecutivo se llevará a cabo la Fiesta del Mar, evento que busca resaltar las bondades y atractivos turísticos de la denominada “Isla de las Flores”, Taboga.

Objetivo

Según los organizadores, entre los que se encuentran miembros de la sociedad civil de Taboga, empresarios (locales y extranjeros) y el gobierno local (Alcaldía), con esta Fiesta del Mar se busca aumentar el tráfico de turistas a la isla, ya que el evento ofrece un atractivo de diversión y esparcimiento para toda la familia, para continuar destacando de manera organizada y sostenible a la Isla de Taboga como un destino turístico de un solo día, por su cercanía a la Ciudad Capital, ofreciendo todas las virtudes ecológicas y culturales que siempre la han destacado como una joya del Pacífico.

Fiesta del Mar tiene como misión continuar apoyando el desarrollo sostenible en la Isla de Taboga, por medio de programa de entrenamientos y alianzas que permitan el crecimiento turístico, cultural y micro-empresarial para el beneficio de la comunidad de Taboga.

De igual manera, colaborar para mejorar la infraestructura de servicios a sus visitantes, dígase baños, duchas públicas y actividades de espaciamiento.

Este año, por celebrarse los 500 años del descubrimiento del Mar del Sur, la Fiesta del Mar, se unirá a las celebraciones que, en torno a este magno evento, se efectuarán en el litoral pacífico panameño, donde está ubicada la Isla de las Flores, Taboga.

16/11/2012 — Bajo los ritmos tropicales y la sazón de la comida caribeña, se llevará a cabo la Fiesta del Mar en Isla Taboga, el 26 y 27 de enero 2013.

El artista Emilio Regueira, integrante de Los Rabanes, fue escogido por los residentes de la isla, quienes organizan la actividad, como el embajador de la festividad para este año.

‘Me siento muy complacido de que me hayan tomado en cuenta para esta actividad que resalta la cultura y tradición del lugar’, afirmó el artista.

Dentro de las atracciones habrá un Festival de Comida con cebiches y juegos de playa para grandes y chicos.

Tickets to Taboga for first Fiesta del Mar going fast!

Parties still without a ferry booking to board this Saturday’s special evening sailing of the Calypso Princess 6:00 p.m. to enjoy the bonfire, dinner and party on Taboga Island in Panama Bay should hurry to La Playita on the Amador Causeway to book a seat before they all fill up.

The boat will return by night under the stars after the party is over. A round trip ticket costs $20.

All others traveling to the big party this weekend on Taboga Island may rest assured that there will be a spot on a comfortable and safe ferry for both the ride out and back.

Throughout this weekend, the Calypso ferry boat trio (Calypso King, Calypso Queen and Calypso Princess) will offer service as often as needed – even hourly to deliver tourists to this fun summer destination. Regular ferry service ends after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The next regular ferry returing to the city will be on Sunday morning.

Taboga Island, called the island of flowers, is celebrating its first Fiesta del Mar, with lots of musical treats like Panama’s famous calypso singer Samuel Archer & the Caribbean Sweet Band on Saturday night by a big bonfire. Dinner, drinks and dancing are in order.

Cooler checks

This weekend it is not recommended to bring a cooler to Taboga. The festival is raising money for the Taboga Island community and its efforts are being supported by the national police who will carry out revisions of carry containers like coolers for alcoholic beverages. Plenty of alcohol will be sold at the festival.

Sunday “funday”

On Sunday, March 18, tours will be available by land or by sea throughout the morning.

The reggae roots band Kannabis will play on the beach between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. following an 11:00 a.m. cayuco race and a 1:00 p.m. Dance presentation by the children of Taboga.

Organizing a new event is never easy, and no matter how much pre-planning goes into it, there’s never enough time.

With only a couple of weeks to go, Taboga’s Festival of the Sea has had to change its schedule.

Originally planned to run over three days from January 27-28, the non-profit event on the Island of Flowers will now kick off with a pre-festival launch on January 28, but the main events have been moved to March 17 and 18. That will give the organizers more time to attract sponsors and to attract the hoped for influx of US visitors primed by the New York Times listing of Panama as the number one place in the world to visit this year.

There will be music and fun for all ages, and an opportunity to experience life on this history enriched island which contains the second oldest church in Latin America, and is entwined with legends and facts about fishing hauls and the one that got away, about buried treasure, pirates and buccaneers, French impressionist painter Paul Gaugin and much more. My own "got away" story relates to schools of flying fish, I have twice seen them leap out of the water as I sat on the beach, but I was never able to get a photo.

Cambio de fechas en la Fiesta del Mar de Taboga

Los organizadores del primer evento bautizado Fiesta del Mar, en la Isla de Taboga, acaban de anunciar un cambio de fechas. La fiesta en la playa, el concierto y las actividades lúdicas se desarrollarán el Sábado 17 de marzo y el domingo 18 del mismo mes.

Aunque los planes originales para la juerga tenían lugar a finales de este mes, el sábado 28 de enero aún ofrece planes festivos, con el pre-lanzamiento del Evento de la Feria del Mar a partir de las 9:00 a.m., en la Isla de Taboga.
